Welcoming 2013!

Happy New Year everyone! 

The past year had been good to me but I'm looking forward for a better 2013...

Good, because I finally started this blog a few months ago which allowed me to share my thoughts about fashion, food, and travel to people of the same interest around the world. Not only was I able to have more freedom in expressing myself but also amazed at how my thoughts are accepted and praised by my lovely followers. I thank you all my lovelies! You all made me appreciate what I have and what I can do.

I hope you all had an amazing New Year celebration. I've browsed a few posts and really I was amazed at how you gals celebrated your New Years Eve, way to go and more to come for this year!

I was originally planning to post a recap of my 2012 and a few other un-posted events or happenings this holiday season. But I thought the New Years celebration would be the best to welcome this year. 

On this post, I've posted a few (or rather a lot!) snapshots of my New Years Eve celebration, pre-NYE and NYE. Yes I had an advanced pre-NYE dinner with my BFFs and our partners since we have separate plans for the NYE and on the NYE itself was just a simple dinner with my husbands friends. My husband and I decided not to party (bummer!) since we've been out almost the whole week and we just wanted to spend our NYE midnight at home. 

While I was having a quiet night after our NYE dinner, Shanghai was having a blast! There was an amazing fireworks display at The Bund, Shanghai's most famous landmark. A 4D light show was staged at the historical buildings of the Bund facing the Huangpu river.  As you can see from the photos below, there was a thick crowd of spectators...hmmnnn...I'm not a big fan of huge crowds anymore.

Our pre-NYE dinner. We chose an authentic French restaurant which is one of the best in Shanghai. The place is called Franck along Ferguson Road. It's quite famous that reservations have to be made at least a week before. The restaurant doesn't have a fixed menu. They do have a daily menu written in French in a board in which the waiter have to explain everything in English on what's written there, reminds me so much of Paris.

The dining experience was amazing and the food was mouth-watering. It was a perfect choice for the evening. I wore this outfit for the night. It was cold a very cold night, windy and snowing/raining, ugh!

Now for my NYE celebration, the plan was just dinner. So I chose a simple look, you can never go wrong with an LBD. I got this LBD from Zara's new collection and just couldn't wait to wear it. I skipped my sequined look but matched a simple LBD with my new Asobio faux fur coat. I planned to wear this outfit the night before but it was just too cold, lol!

I accentuated my simple LBD with twisted three free belts that came free from my new dresses from Promod which I got on that day. One belt matched my coat which was just perfect. Check out the look:

NYE dinner was in a Thai restaurant called Coconut Paradise. I didn't expect to see a lot of people there but the queue outside was quite long. The food was piquant so every bite was stimulating to our palate.

So that's how my 2012 ended....

I couldn't say it was a blast but the entire year for me was already a blast so I think a quite evening would be the best way to end it. I've had lots of parties and fireworks in my past NYE celebrations, it was fun I admit. For a change I want to celebrate it in a different way...

For this year I hope to be more updated in posting and also looking forward to a lot of changes in Anmari-ish...it's all for good :)
